Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs providing center and home based options with a focus on education, health, nutrition, and social services to pregnant women and/or families with children ages 0-5. Together, the Head Start and Early Head Start staff and parents design individual plans that will meet the needs of each family and nurture the development of the child. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom and attend parent events. Parents also receive training and play a key role in planning, decision making and operation of the program.
